foods that are bad for you. No doubt, you’re

and take it a step further and explain why it’s bad for
you and how it directly affects your ability to lose

There are plenty of programs that show you
how to lose weight, but so many of them are
unsustainable. You might lose weight in the beginning,
but sooner or later you’ll find you’ve gained the weight
back. Maybe even more than you started with! This is
because too many of these so called “magic diets” are
unrealistic. They either have you eating ridiculously
small amounts of food, or crazy things such as cabbage
soup for three days! Who wants to do that?

Truthfully, the best way to lose weight
fast is through diet and exercise. I know, most of us
don’t want to believe this, but it’s true. The good news is,
there are certain types of food and exercise that work
better than others. We’ll get to that
shortly.
First, let’s look at how the liver
processes food. Why the liver I
hear you say? Well, the liver is
often overlooked when it comes to weight
loss. But
the truth is, a poorly functioning liver not only results
in weight gain, but tiredness, headaches, allergies and
problem skin. Abuse it too much
and the situation gets a lot worse.
How can my
liver help me to lose weight fast?
The liver has many functions. One of them is to
detoxify and filter all the harmful substances we put
into our body. These substances
include preservatives, additives, drugs, alcohol... you
get the point. And what do you
think happens when your liver is busy ridding the body of
these toxins? Well, I can tell
you what it’s not doing. It’s not carrying
out the usual metabolic processes it was designed
for. Slow metabolism =
less weight loss for you. Over-eating has
the same effect. It is so busy
processing all the extra food, there isn’t a lot of time
left to perform the other tasks. We’ve all heard of
“eating heart healthy”, well they need to promote “eating
liver healthy” too. A properly
functioning liver will aid your weight loss
greatly!
So, the first step in our quest of how to
lose weight fast, is to eat and drink foods that our
liver can process effectively. These include fruit,
vegetables, lean meats & high fibre food. Refrain or
restrict alcohol, caffeine, drugs (including
non-essential prescription drugs) and
pre-packaged/processed foods. This step alone will not
only have the weight falling off you, but you will feel
great too.
